Suzanne Hamby was twice awarded the prestigious Feather Award for Best Professional Dancer in the United States. She also won the Feather Award for Best Dance Teacher in the United States. Suzanne Hamby teaches private ballroom and latin dancing to all levels of dancers from beginners to professionals. Suzanne’s students include many champions in National and Regional dance competitions. She has won numerous Top Dance Teacher and Top Studio awards. She has coached the Harvard and MIT Ballroom Dance Teams and is currently one of the coaches for the University of Connecticut Ballroom Dance Team. She also teaches ballroom dancing to 4th and 5th graders in an after school program where there is a waiting list to join her class.

Advantages of Private Dance Lessons

In a private lesson, you will work one-on-one with a teacher at your own pace. Some people prefer the comaraderie and social aspects of group dance classes. Private lessons however, allow you to schedule your lessons by appointment and provide you the privacy some people prefer. You can improve your ballroom and latin dancing much more quickly by having a teacher focus on you exclusively. If your busy schedule doesn't allow you time to fit in a six week group class, or if the dance you want to learn isn't being offered, or if you prefer individualized dance instruction, private ballroom and latin dance lessons are right for you. You do not need a partner to take private lessons. You can work with a male or female instructor. It's your choice. Couples and groups of friends can also book private dance lessons by appointment.
